In the name of God; The All-Gracious, The All-Merciful.
[20:1] TaaHaa
[20:2] We did not reveal this Quran to you to cause you hardship.
[20:3] It is only a reminder to the reverent.
[20:4] It is a revelation from The One who created matter and the high vacua.
[20:5] The All Gracious, He balanced the dominion.
[20:6] To Him belong everything in the vacua and matter and what is between them and what is underneath them.
[20:7] Any statement you make, He knows the secret thereof and what is even more hidden.
[20:8] God, there is no god except He, to Him belong the most beautiful names.
[20:9] And have you received the history of Moses?
[20:10] When he saw a fire, he then said to his family; stay put, I have seen a fire, maybe I will bring back part of it or I find guidance by the fire.
[20:11] When he reached it, he was called; O Moses -
[20:12] - I am indeed your Lord; therefore, take off your shoes, you are indeed in the sacred plain of Towa.
[20:13] And I have chosen you, therefore, listen to what is being inspired.
[20:14] I am indeed God, there is no other god except Me, you shall, then, worship Me and observe the contact prayer to commemorate Me.
[20:15] The Hour is surely coming; I will keep it almost secret, in order to reward every soul for her effort.
[20:16] Therefore, do not be diverted from it by the one who does not believe in it and follows his own desire, lest you will fail.
[20:17] And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?
[20:18] He said, it is my staff, I lean on it, I herd my sheep with it and perform other tasks with it.
[20:19] He said; throw it down O Moses.
[20:20] Once he threw it, it became alive, moving.
[20:21] He said; grab it and do not be afraid, We will bring it back to its original nature.
[20:22] And put your hand in your pocket, it will come out white without any ill, another sign.
[20:23] This is in order to show you some of Our great signs.
[20:24] Go to Pharaoh, for he has indeed rebelled.
[20:25] He said; Lord, cool my temper.
[20:26] And ease my task.
[20:27] And untie the knot from my tongue -
[20:28] -so that they may be able to understand me.
[20:29] And appoint an assistant for me from my family -
[20:30] - Aaron, my brother.
[20:31] Strengthen me with him.
[20:32] And make him a partner in my affairs.
[20:33] So that we may glorify You a lot.
[20:34] And commemorate You a lot.
[20:35] Indeed You are All Seer over us.
[20:36] He said; I am granting you your request, O Moses.
[20:37] And We indeed blessed you another time, -
[20:38] -when We inspired your mother what We inspired.
[20:39] Put him in a box and throw him into the sea, it will come to the seashore and he will be picked up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his. And I showered you with love from Me and I have made you before My watchful eye.
[20:40] As your sister was walking she said; can I show you someone who could look after him? We thus returned you back to your mother in order to brighten her eyes and saved her from grief. And you killed a soul and We saved you from distress and We thoroughly tested you. Then you spent years with the Medians, and you exactly followed your destiny O Moses.
[20:41] And I chose you just for Me.
[20:42] Go you and your brother with My signs and do not waver in commemorating Me.
[20:43] The two of you shall go to Pharaoh, for he has indeed rebelled.
[20:44] The two of you shall talk to him in a soft manner that he may take heed or become reverent.
[20:45] The two of them said; our Lord, we are indeed fearful that he may transgress against us or rebel.
[20:46] He said, do not fear, I will indeed be with you both, listening and watching.
[20:47] Then when both of you get there, tell him, indeed we are two messengers from your Lord, therefore, let the Children of Israel go with us and do not persecute them. We will indeed produce for you a sign from your Lord, and peace upon the one who follows the guidance.
[20:48] We have indeed been inspired that suffering will be the lot of the one who rejects and turns away.
[20:49] He said; who is the Lord of the two of you O Moses?
[20:50] He said; our Lord is the One who granted everything its existence then guided.
[20:51] He said; what about the previous generations?
[20:52] He said, the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord never errs nor does He ever forget.
[20:53] He is the One who made the land an oasis for you and made roads for you therein and He sends down water from the sky, whereby We grow all kinds of plants .
[20:54] Eat and feed your livestock. Indeed, therein are signs for those who possess intelligence.
[20:55] From it, We created you and to it We will return you and from it We will bring you out once more.
[20:56] And We indeed showed him all of Our signs, but he rejected and refused them all.
[20:57] He said; did you come to evict us from our land with your magic O Moses?
[20:58] We will therefore bring you similar magic, so go ahead and choose a venue for us and you that neither us nor you would violate, a neutral place.
[20:59] He said; the venue will be the day of festivities, when the people gather around by the forenoon.
[20:60] Therefore, Pharaoh turned away, he put together all his schemes, then he showed up.
[20:61] Moses told them, woe to you; do not attribute lies to God otherwise you will end up suffering. And indeed failed the one who fabricated.
[20:62] Then they debated the matter fiercely amongst themselves and had secret meetings.
[20:63] They said; these are a couple of magicians who want to evict you from your land with their magic and completely destroy your way of life.
[20:64] Therefore, put together your scheme and come in a row. And indeed today success belongs to those who attain the upper hand.
[20:65] They said; O Moses either you throw or we throw first.
[20:66] He said; you go ahead and throw. Then once they threw, their ropes and sticks, due to their magic, seemed to him to be indeed moving.
[20:67] Then, Moses felt fear inside himself.
[20:68] We said; do not fear, you will be exalted.
[20:69] And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow what they have fabricated. Indeed what they fabricated is no more than a magician's trick. And the magicians will never succeed.
[20:70] Then the magicians fell prostrate, saying we believe in the Lord of Aaron and Moses.
[20:71] He said, did you believe before I gave you the permission? Indeed your great one shall be the one who taught you magic. Therefore, I will cut off your hands and feet on the alternate sides and I will crucify you on the trunk of the palm tree and will surely teach you which one of us is more stern in inflicting punishment and which one is more lasting.
[20:72] They said; we were deeply touched by the proofs that have come our way and the One who initiated us. Then issue whatever judgment you wish to issue. Indeed your judgment is only for this worldly life.
[20:73] We indeed believed in our Lord so that He may forgive our mistakes, and the magic you forced us to produce. And God is far better and everlasting.
[20:74] Indeed whoever comes to his Lord guilty, then, indeed Gehenna is his lot wherein he never dies nor stays alive.
[20:75] And those who come to Him as faithful while leading a righteous life, then reserved for them are exalted ranks.
[20:76] Gardens of Eden with flowing streams beneath them, they abide therein eternally. This is the reward for those who purified themselves.
[20:77] And We indeed inspired Moses, take My servants out, then move them through a dry passage in the sea, and do not fear of getting caught and do not worry.
[20:78] Then Pharaoh and his troops chased them, however, the sea covered them, what a covering!
[20:79] And Pharaoh sent his people astray, he never guided them.
[20:80] O Children of Israel, We indeed saved you from your enemy and made a covenant with you by the blessed mountain and sent down for you manna and quail.
[20:81] Eat from the clean provision We have provided for you and do not transgress therein, lest you deserve My wrath, and whomever receives My wrath he has indeed fallen.
[20:82] And I most assuredly forgive whoever repents, believes and leads a righteous life and remains guided.
[20:83] And what made you run away from your people in such a hurry O Moses?
[20:84] He said; they were close behind me and I rushed to You Lord to please You.
[20:85] He said; We then indeed tested your people after you left and the Samarian misled them.
[20:86] Afterwards, Moses returned to his people, angry and disappointed. He said; O my people, did your Lord not promise you a good promise? Could you not wait for the covenant or do you wish to bring upon yourselves your Lord's wrath? You thus broke the agreement I made with you.
[20:87] They said; we did not break our agreement with you on our own, however, we were loaded with jewelry, then, we threw them into a pile, as the Samarian suggested.
[20:88] He then produced a statue of a calf with a sound and said; this is your lord and the lord of Moses; he therefore completely forgot.
[20:89] Did they not see that it cannot respond to them nor does it possess any power to harm or benefit them?
[20:90] And indeed Aaron also told them previously, O my people you are being tested with this, and indeed your Lord is The All Gracious, therefore follow me and obey my commands.
[20:91] They said; we will remain devoted to it until Moses returns to us.
[20:92] He said; O Aaron what held you back when you saw them going astray.
[20:93] Did you not obey? Have you rebelled against me?
[20:94] He said; O son of my mother do not take me with my beard and my head. I was afraid if I said anything, you would say that I have divided the Children of Israel and you would not like my words.
[20:95] He said; what do you have to say for yourself O Samarian?
[20:96] He said, I could see what they did not see. I then picked up a handful from the messenger's place and mixed it in, and so seduced me my ego.
[20:97] He said; go then and indeed in this life you announce yourself as an outcast, and indeed there is a promise awaiting you that will not be broken. And watch your god whom you were so devoted to, we will indeed set it ablaze and throw it into the sea.
[20:98] Indeed your only god is God, the One, there is no other god besides Him. His knowledge encompasses all things.
[20:99] We thus narrate news from the past. And indeed We have given you a reminder from Our special place.
[20:100] Whoever turns away from it, then, indeed he will carry his sins on the Day of Resurrection.
[20:101] Eternity is upon them and miserable indeed is their load on the Day of Resurrection.
[20:102] The day the trumpet sounds, We will gather the guilty on that day blind.
[20:103] They whisper to each other, we lasted only ten.
[20:104] We know full well what they say. The most accurate one would say you only lasted a day.
[20:105] And they ask you about the mountains; say, my Lord wipes them out completely.
[20:106] And then leave them completely leveled.
[20:107] You will not see any dips or mounds.
[20:108] On that day every one will follow the caller without the least deviation and all voices are silenced for The All Gracious; you will then not hear anything but whispers.
[20:109] On that day no intercession will be beneficial, except for the one that The All Gracious permits and his utterance is pleasing to Him.
[20:110] He knows their pasts and their futures and their knowledge never surpasses His.
[20:111] And all faces are fixed towards The Living, The Eternal, and indeed failed the one who committed injustice.
[20:112] As for the one who leads a righteous life and he is faithful, then he suffers no injustice and no humiliation.
[20:113] And We thus revealed it an Arabic Quran and cited prophesies therein that they may fear god or to serve as a collection of reminders for them.
[20:114] Therefore, the Exalted One is God, the true King. And do not rush the Quran before His inspiration comes to you and say, Lord, increase my knowledge.
[20:115] And indeed We made an agreement with Adam previously, he then forgot, We did not find him resolute.
[20:116] And when We said to the angels, honor Adam, they all did, except Iblis who refused.
[20:117] We then said; O Adam, indeed he is an enemy of you and your wife, he would cause your eviction from Paradise and you will suffer hardship.
[20:118] Indeed you will never suffer hunger therein nor will you ever be naked.
[20:119] And indeed you will never thirst therein and never suffer the heat of the sun.
[20:120] Then Satan enticed them saying; O Adam shall I show you the tree of eternity and everlasting kingship?
[20:121] Then they both ate from it, whereupon their bodies became visible to them and they tried to cover themselves with the leaves of Paradise. And Adam disobeyed his Lord and he then became a transgressor.
[20:122] Then his Lord chose him, accepted his repentance and guided him.
[20:123] He said the two of you get out therefrom with the rest as enemies of one another. Therefore, when guidance comes to you from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, he will never go astray nor will he suffer any hardship.
[20:124] And whoever rejects My reminder, he will then surely have a life of hardship, and We will summon him on the Day of Resurrection blind.
[20:125] He said, Lord why did you summon me blind when I used to be a seer.
[20:126] He said; because when Our proofs came to you, you chose to ignore them, and you are thus ignored today.
[20:127] And We thus requite the one who transgresses and does not believe in the signs of his Lord. And indeed the suffering of the Hereafter is far more severe and everlasting.
[20:128] Do they not realize that We annihilated generations before them in whose dwellings they walk? Indeed, in this there are signs for those who possess intelligence.
[20:129] And if it were not for a predetermined word of your Lord, their interim would have been definitely over.
[20:130] Therefore, be patient in the face of their utterances, and glorify and praise your Lord, before sunrise and before sunset and also glorify during the night and during the day that you may be pleased.
[20:131] And do not fix your eyes on what We have bestowed on others from the vanities of this worldly life; it is to test them therewith. As for your Lord's provision, it is far better and everlasting.
[20:132] And encourage your family to observe the contact prayers and insist upon it. We do not ask you for any provision, We provide for you. And the reward belongs to those who are god-fearing.
[20:133] They also said, if only he brings us a proof from his Lord. Did the proofs described in previous scripture not come to them?
[20:134] And had We afflicted them with a suffering prior to this, they would have indeed said; our Lord, had You sent us a messenger, we would have then followed your signs before becoming debased and humiliated.
[20:135] Say, we all wait, therefore you should wait too. You will then soon find out who follows the straight path and is guided.
