[85:1] By the vacuum, containing the constellations.

[85:2] By the day that is promised.

[85:3] By the witness, and the witnessed.

[85:4] Woe to the dwellers of the valley.

[85:5] The fire was ignited by the fuel.

[85:6] When they all sat around it,-

[85:7] -and they all witnessed what they were doing to the faithful.

[85:8] And they only unleashed their vengeance upon them because they had faith in God, The Almighty, The Praiseworthy.

[85:9] The One to whom belongs the kingship of the vacua and matter. And God witnesses all things.

[85:10] Indeed those who persecute the faithful men and the faithful women then do not repent; reserved for them is the suffering of Gehenna and the suffering of the blazing inferno.

[85:11] Surely, the faithful who lead a righteous life, reserved for them are Paradises with flowing streams beneath them. This is the greatest triumph.

[85:12] Indeed your Lord's strike is severe.

[85:13] Indeed, He initiates and repeats.

[85:14] And He is The All Forgiving, The All Loving.

[85:15] Possessor of the glorious throne.

[85:16] The perfect doer of all that He wills.

[85:17] Have you received the story of the armies-

[85:18] -of Pharaoh and Thamoud?

[85:19] However, the unfaithful are in complete denial.

[85:20] And God has completely surrounded them without their knowledge.

[85:21] Yet, this is a Glorious Quran.

[85:22] In a guarded tablet.
