بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ١

[71:1] We sent Noah to his people that you shall warn your people before the advent of a painful suffering.

قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌ٢

[71:2] He said, O my people, I am indeed a clear deliverer of warning to you.

أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ٣

[71:3] That you shall worship God , fear Him and obey me.

يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍۢ مُّسَمًّى إِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ٤

[71:4] He will forgive your sins and will respite you for a predetermined interim. Surely, when God ’s predetermined interim arrives; there is no delay if you could only realize it.

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًۭا وَنَهَارًۭا٥

[71:5] He said, my Lord, I have invited my People night and day.

فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًۭا٦

[71:6] However, my invitation only increased their aversion.

وَإِنِّى كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوٓا۟ أَصَٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟ ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا۟ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ ٱسْتِكْبَارًۭا٧

[71:7] And every time I invited them in order that You may forgive them, they placed their fingers in their ears and cloaked themselves under their garments and persistently remained arrogant.

ثُمَّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًۭا٨

[71:8] Then, I indeed invited them publicly.

ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًۭا٩

[71:9] Afterwards, I proclaimed to them and discussed with them in private, in absolute privacy.

فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًۭا١٠

[71:10] Then I told them, ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is indeed All Forgiving.

يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًۭا١١

[71:11] He will send from the sky pouring rain upon you.

وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍۢ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَٰرًۭا١٢

[71:12] And He will increase your wealth and number of your sons; and will create for you gardens and rivers.

مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًۭا١٣

[71:13] Why do you not wish to attribute to God majesty?

وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا١٤

[71:14] He is the One who created you different.

أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٍۢ طِبَاقًۭا١٥

[71:15] Do you not see how God has created seven skies in layers -

وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًۭا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًۭا١٦

[71:16] -and placed therein the moon as a light, and made the sun a lamp?

وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًۭا١٧

[71:17] And God grows you out of the ground like plants.

ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًۭا١٨

[71:18] Then He returns you to it and brings you out again.

وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًۭا١٩

[71:19] And God has made the land for you as an oasis.

لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟ مِنْهَا سُبُلًۭا فِجَاجًۭا٢٠

[71:20] That you may travel therein, in wide roads.

قَالَ نُوحٌۭ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًۭا٢١

[71:21] Noah said, my Lord, they have disobeyed me, but they follow those who only increase their loss of money and children.

وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًۭا كُبَّارًۭا٢٢

[71:22] And they have devised a great scheme.

وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّۭا وَلَا سُوَاعًۭا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًۭا٢٣

[71:23] And they said; do not abandon your gods; do not abandon Wadd, Suwa, Yaguth, Ya'uq, and Nasr.

وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا۟ كَثِيرًۭا وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَٰلًۭا٢٤

[71:24] They have indeed misled many; they did not augment anything for the transgressors except their straying.

مِّمَّا خَطِيٓـَٰٔتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا۟ فَأُدْخِلُوا۟ نَارًۭا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًۭا٢٥

[71:25] Because of their sins they were drowned and they were admitted into Fire and they did not find any helpers besides God .

وَقَالَ نُوحٌۭ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا٢٦

[71:26] And Noah said; my Lord, do not leave a single unfaithful on the land.

إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًۭا كَفَّارًۭا٢٧

[71:27] Surely, if You leave them, they mislead your servants and do not produce anything but evil-doers and the unfaithful.

رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًۭا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا٢٨

[71:28] My Lord; forgive me and my parents and every faithful who enters my house, and all the faithful men and the faithful women, and do not increase anything for the transgressors except loss.
