بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

قُلْ أُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ أَنَّهُ ٱسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْءَانًا عَجَبًۭا١

[72:1] Say, it has been revealed to me that a number of Jinns listened, then, said, we indeed heard a wonderful Quran.

يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلرُّشْدِ فَـَٔامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَلَن نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَآ أَحَدًۭا٢

[72:2] It guides to righteousness, therefore, we have believed in it and we will never set anyone as a partner for our Lord.

وَأَنَّهُۥ تَعَٰلَىٰ جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا ٱتَّخَذَ صَٰحِبَةًۭ وَلَا وَلَدًۭا٣

[72:3] And He is indeed exalted; He is the one, our Lord. He never had a spouse or a son.

وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ شَطَطًۭا٤

[72:4] And indeed only the fools amongst us used to say such nonsense about God .

وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن تَقُولَ ٱلْإِنسُ وَٱلْجِنُّ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا٥

[72:5] And we never thought that humans and jinns could ever utter lies about God .

وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ رِجَالٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَهَقًۭا٦

[72:6] And indeed, there were a group of men among humans who took refuge with a group of men Jinns, but they increased their humiliation.

وَأَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوا۟ كَمَا ظَنَنتُمْ أَن لَّن يَبْعَثَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدًۭا٧

[72:7] And they thought for sure just like you thought that God will never resurrect anyone.

وَأَنَّا لَمَسْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ فَوَجَدْنَٰهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًۭا شَدِيدًۭا وَشُهُبًۭا٨

[72:8] And we touched the sky; we then found it full of stern guards and projectiles.

وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَٰعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ فَمَن يَسْتَمِعِ ٱلْءَانَ يَجِدْ لَهُۥ شِهَابًۭا رَّصَدًۭا٩

[72:9] We indeed, used to sit in stations to listen; but anyone who listens, will find a watchful projectile chasing him.

وَأَنَّا لَا نَدْرِىٓ أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًۭا١٠

[72:10] And we surely do not know whether the worst is intended for those on the land, or whether their Lord wills to guide them.

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ كُنَّا طَرَآئِقَ قِدَدًۭا١١

[72:11] And indeed some of us are righteous, and some of us less than that, we follow different paths.

وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن نُّعْجِزَ ٱللَّهَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَن نُّعْجِزَهُۥ هَرَبًۭا١٢

[72:12] And we know that we can never defeat God throughout the land, nor can we frustrate Him by fleeing.

وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعْنَا ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ فَمَن يُؤْمِنۢ بِرَبِّهِۦ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخْسًۭا وَلَا رَهَقًۭا١٣

[72:13] And once we heard the guidance, we believed in it, consequently, whoever attains faith in his Lord, then, he will never fear adversity and never suffer any humiliation.

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا ٱلْقَٰسِطُونَ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ تَحَرَّوْا۟ رَشَدًۭا١٤

[72:14] And surely, some of us are submitters and some of us are compromisers. As for those who are submitters then they have sought guidance.

وَأَمَّا ٱلْقَٰسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا۟ لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًۭا١٥

[72:15] And as for the compromisers, they will be fuel for Gehenna.

وَأَلَّوِ ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسْقَيْنَٰهُم مَّآءً غَدَقًۭا١٦

[72:16] Had they remained on the straight path, We would have provided for them abundant water.

لِّنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ وَمَن يُعْرِضْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِۦ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابًۭا صَعَدًۭا١٧

[72:17] For we test them therewith. And if anyone turns away from the commemoration of his Lord, He will cause him an increasing suffering.

وَأَنَّ ٱلْمَسَٰجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدًۭا١٨

[72:18] And the Mosques belong to God ; therefore, do not call upon anyone with God .

وَأَنَّهُۥ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا۟ يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًۭا١٩

[72:19] And yet indeed when God ’s servant stood up calling Him, they almost all banded together to oppose him.

قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَدْعُوا۟ رَبِّى وَلَآ أُشْرِكُ بِهِۦٓ أَحَدًۭا٢٠

[72:20] Say; I only call upon my Lord and do not set anyone as a partner for Him.

قُلْ إِنِّى لَآ أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّۭا وَلَا رَشَدًۭا٢١

[72:21] Say; I indeed do not possess any harm or benefit for you.

قُلْ إِنِّى لَن يُجِيرَنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدٌۭ وَلَنْ أَجِدَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مُلْتَحَدًا٢٢

[72:22] Say; no one can protect me from God and I will never find another refuge besides Him.

إِلَّا بَلَٰغًۭا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِسَٰلَٰتِهِۦ وَمَن يَعْصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا٢٣

[72:23] I am only to deliver from God His messages. And anyone who disobeys God and His messenger, then indeed awaiting him is the fire of Gehenna, wherein he abides forever.

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَضْعَفُ نَاصِرًۭا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدًۭا٢٤

[72:24] Finally, when they see what is promised to them, they will then realize who has the weakest helper and is fewest in number.

قُلْ إِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌۭ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ أَمْ يَجْعَلُ لَهُۥ رَبِّىٓ أَمَدًا٢٥

[72:25] Say; I do not know whether what is promised is near or my Lord will delay it.

عَٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيْبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا٢٦

[72:26] He is the knower of all secrets and He does not reveal it to anyone-

إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرْتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٍۢ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَسْلُكُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦ رَصَدًۭا٢٧

[72:27] -except to a messenger whom He has chosen; He gives excerpts from the past and the future to behold.

لِّيَعْلَمَ أَن قَدْ أَبْلَغُوا۟ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ وَأَحْصَىٰ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عَدَدًۢا٢٨

[72:28] This is in order for Him to know that they have delivered all their Lord’s messages and He fully encompasses everything they do and He has counted the number of all things.
