بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ١

[75:1] I swear by the Day of Resurrection.

وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ٢

[75:2] And I do swear by the blaming soul.

أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ٣

[75:3] Does the human being think that We will not collect his bones?

بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ٤

[75:4] Yes indeed, We are able to reconstruct his finger tips.

بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ٥

[75:5] But the human being only wishes to do the most wrong.

يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ٦

[75:6] He asks; when is the Day of Resurrection?

فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ٧

[75:7] That is when the eyes are overwhelmed by the light,

وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ٨

[75:8] And the moon is eclipsed.

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ٩

[75:9] And the sun and the moon are expired,-

يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ١٠

[75:10] -the human being will say on that day; is there a way out?

كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ١١

[75:11] Absolutely, no place is safe.

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ١٢

[75:12] Only to your Lord, on that day, will be the final destiny.

يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ١٣

[75:13] The human being will be informed on that day what caused him to advance and regress.

بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌۭ١٤

[75:14] The human being will fully see his own soul.

وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ١٥

[75:15] No apologies will be accepted.

لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ١٦

[75:16] Do not move your tongue to hasten it.

إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ١٧

[75:17] Indeed it is Us who collects it and makes it a Quran.

فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ١٨

[75:18] Then once We recite it to you, you shall then follow such a Quran.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ١٩

[75:19] Then indeed it is Us who explains it.

كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ٢٠

[75:20] Absolutely, you love this fleeting life.

وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ٢١

[75:21] And neglect the Hereafter.

وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ نَّاضِرَةٌ٢٢

[75:22] Some faces, on that day, will be happy.

إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌۭ٢٣

[75:23] Looking towards their Lord.

وَوُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌۭ٢٤

[75:24] And some faces, on that day, will be sad.

تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌۭ٢٥

[75:25] Knowing the worst is about to happen to them.

كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ٢٦

[75:26] Absolutely, when it reaches the throat.

وَقِيلَ مَنْ رَاقٍۢ٢٧

[75:27] And he is told; is there any one to relieve it?

وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ٢٨

[75:28] And he will know it is indeed time to depart.

وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ٢٩

[75:29] And one leg lies motionless next to the other.

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ٣٠

[75:30] To your Lord, on that day, will be the journey.

فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ٣١

[75:31] He was never charitable nor did he ever pray.

-

وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ٣٢

[75:32] On the contrary, he always denied the truth and ignored it.

ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ٣٣

[75:33] He was always arrogant with his family.

أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ٣٤

[75:34] You have really deserved this.

ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ٣٥

[75:35] Then again, you have really deserved this.

أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى٣٦

[75:36] Does the human being reckon that he will be left untouched?

أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةًۭ مِّن مَّنِىٍّۢ يُمْنَىٰ٣٧

[75:37] Was he not a drop of ejected semen?

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةًۭ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ٣٨

[75:38] Then he became an embryo, then He created and perfected.

فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ٣٩

[75:39] And He made him into a pair, male and female.

أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْۦِىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ٤٠

[75:40] Is He therefore not able to grant life to the dead?
