وَٱلنَّٰزِعَٰتِ غَرْقًۭا١

[79:1] By the ones who rip out violently.

وَٱلنَّٰشِطَٰتِ نَشْطًۭا٢

[79:2] By those who gently draw out.

وَٱلسَّٰبِحَٰتِ سَبْحًۭا٣

[79:3] By those who float everywhere.

فَٱلسَّٰبِقَٰتِ سَبْقًۭا٤

[79:4] Then race ahead quickly.

فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًۭا٥

[79:5] Then execute all commands.

يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ٦

[79:6] The day when everything will be shaken up in a quake.

تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ٧

[79:7] Followed by aftershocks.

قُلُوبٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ وَاجِفَةٌ٨

[79:8] Hearts on that day will be terrified.

أَبْصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٌۭ٩

[79:9] Eyes will be subdued.

يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ١٠

[79:10] They will say; have we been resurrected from the graves?

أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمًۭا نَّخِرَةًۭ١١

[79:11] -Even though we were rotten bones?

قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًۭا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌۭ١٢

[79:12] They also said; this is a losing proposition.

فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌۭ وَٰحِدَةٌۭ١٣

[79:13] However, it is indeed only a single blow.

فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ١٤

[79:14] Then they all will be awakened.

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ١٥

[79:15] Have you heard the story of Moses?

إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى١٦

[79:16] When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa.

ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ١٧

[79:17] Go to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed.

فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ١٨

[79:18] And ask him; would you not move towards purification?

وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ١٩

[79:19] And; I lead you to your Lord, so that you may attain reverence.

فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْءَايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ٢٠

[79:20] I will then show you a great sign.

فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ٢١

[79:21] However, he rejected it and rebelled.

ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ٢٢

[79:22] He turned his back, and fled.

فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ٢٣

[79:23] He then gathered an audience and proclaimed.

فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ٢٤

[79:24] He then said; I am your lord, the exalted.

فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ٢٥

[79:25] Therefore God punished him, an example in the Hereafter as well as this life.

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةًۭ لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ٢٦

[79:26] Indeed in this, there is a lesson for those who are reverent.

ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ بَنَىٰهَا٢٧

[79:27] Are you more difficult to create or the sky? He has constructed it.

رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا٢٨

[79:28] He raised its ceiling and then balanced it.

وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا٢٩

[79:29] And He gave it the darkness and the light.

وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ٣٠

[79:30] And afterwards, He spread the land throughout.

أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا٣١

[79:31] He produced from it its water and its pastures.

وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا٣٢

[79:32] And the mountains that He firmly fixed.

-

مَتَٰعًۭا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ٣٣

[79:33] As a provision for you and your livestock.

فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ٣٤

[79:34] Then when the great blow comes,-

يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ٣٥

[79:35] -that will be the day when the human being will be reminded of everything he has done.

وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ٣٦

[79:36] And the Inferno will be shown to those who are meant to see it.

فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ٣٧

[79:37] Then, for the one who transgressed-

وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا٣٨

[79:38] -and preferred this worldly life-

-

فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ٣٩

[79:39] -then indeed the Inferno will be his abode.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ٤٠

[79:40] As for the one who fears the majesty of his Lord and restrains the soul from desire-

فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ٤١

[79:41] -then Paradise will be his abode.

يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا٤٢

[79:42] They ask you about the Hour, and when it will come to pass.

فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ٤٣

[79:43] Do not preoccupy yourself with its declaration.

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ٤٤

[79:44] To your Lord is its final destiny.

إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا٤٥

[79:45] You are only a warner to the one who is mindful of it.

كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا٤٦

[79:46] The day they see it, it seems as though they only lasted an evening or a morning.
