سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى١

[87:1] Glorify constantly the name of your Lord, The Exalted.

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ٢

[87:2] The One who created, then balanced.

وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ٣

[87:3] And the One who exactly measured then guided.

وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ٤

[87:4] And the One who brings out the pasture.

فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ٥

[87:5] Then He turns it into dry hay.

سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ٦

[87:6] We will recite to you, therefore do not forget-

إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ٧

[87:7] -everything is in accordance with God's will. He indeed knows the obvious as well as the hidden.

وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ٨

[87:8] And We will make it easy for you.

فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ٩

[87:9] Therefore, keep on reminding, for the reminder may be beneficial.

سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ١٠

[87:10] The reminder will be received only by those who are reverent.

وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى١١

[87:11] And avoiding it is the utmost evildoer.

ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ١٢

[87:12] This is the one who will enter the great Fire.

ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ١٣

[87:13] Then, he neither dies therein nor stays alive.

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ١٤

[87:14] Surely, success belongs to the one who gives the cleansing charity-

وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ١٥

[87:15] -and commemorates the name of his Lord, and observes the contact prayer.

بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا١٦

[87:16] Yet, you prefer this worldly life-

وَٱلْءَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ١٧

[87:17] -while the Hereafter is far better and everlasting.

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ١٨

[87:18] Indeed, this is so recorded in the ancient scrolls-

صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ١٩

[87:19] -the scrolls of Abraham and Moses.
