هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةًۭ طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ ﴿٣٨﴾
[3:38]
In there, Zachariah called upon his Lord. My Lord, grant me, from Your special place, a pure heir. Indeed You are All Hearer of the calling.

فَنَادَتْهُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٌۭ يُصَلِّى فِى ٱلْمِحْرَابِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَىٰ مُصَدِّقًۢا بِكَلِمَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًۭا وَحَصُورًۭا وَنَبِيًّۭا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ﴿٣٩﴾
[3:39]
Then, the angels called him, as he was standing to pray in the sanctuary, indeed God gives you the good news of John, an upholder of God ’s word, a gentleman, a person who controls his desires, and a righteous prophet.

قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌۭ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ وَٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرٌۭ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱللَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ ﴿٤٠﴾
[3:40]
He said, my Lord; how can I have a son as I am old and my wife is sterile? He said, hence God does what He wills.

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةًۭ قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمْزًۭا وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيرًۭا وَسَبِّحْ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِبْكَٰرِ ﴿٤١﴾
[3:41]
He said, my Lord, give me a sign. He said your sign is that you will not speak to people for three days, except by sign language. Furthermore, commemorate your Lord constantly and glorify day and night.

وَإِذْ قَالَتِ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَٱصْطَفَىٰكِ عَلَىٰ نِسَآءِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٤٢﴾

And when the angles said, O Mary, indeed God has chosen you and has cleansed you, and He has chosen you over all the women in the world.

O Mary, humble yourself for your Lord and fall prostrate and humbly bow with those who humbly bow.

ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يُلْقُونَ أَقْلَٰمَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ يَكْفُلُ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ ﴿٤٤﴾
[3:44]
These are the hidden news, We have inspired to you. And you were not present when they drew lots to see which one should be the guardian for Mary and you were not present when they argued.

قَالَتْ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى وَلَدٌۭ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌۭ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ ٱللَّهُ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًۭا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ ﴿٤٧﴾
[3:47]
She said, my Lord, how can I have a son while no man has touched me? He said so does God create what He wills. Once he wills a matter, then, indeed He will say to it; be and it is.
