بَرَآءَةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّم مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ﴿١﴾

Absolution has been decreed by God and His messenger for those who have a treaty with you from amongst those who set up partners for god.

فَسِيحُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍۢ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّكُمْ غَيْرُ مُعْجِزِى ٱللَّهِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُخْزِى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿٢﴾
[9:2]
Therefore, roam the land for four months and remember that you are certainly unable to defeat God and that indeed God humiliates the unfaithful.

وَأَذَٰنٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَوْمَ ٱلْحَجِّ ٱلْأَكْبَرِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَرَسُولُهُۥ فَإِن تُبْتُمْ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ وَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّكُمْ غَيْرُ مُعْجِزِى ٱللَّهِ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ﴿٣﴾
[9:3]
And a proclamation from God and His messenger to the people on the day of the great pilgrimage that indeed God has disowned those who set up partners for god and so has His messenger. Therefore, if you repent it would be better for you but if you turn away, you shall know that you can never defeat God. And give the unfaithful the news of a most painful suffering.

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّم مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَنقُصُوكُمْ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَمْ يُظَٰهِرُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدًۭا فَأَتِمُّوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ عَهْدَهُمْ إِلَىٰ مُدَّتِهِمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿٤﴾
[9:4]
Exempted are those who have a treaty with you from amongst those who set up partners for god, but they never break their treaty and do not band together with anyone against you, then you shall fulfill the interim of your treaty. Indeed God loves those who are god-fearing.

فَإِذَا ٱنسَلَخَ ٱلْأَشْهُرُ ٱلْحُرُمُ فَٱقْتُلُوا۟ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ حَيْثُ وَجَدتُّمُوهُمْ وَخُذُوهُمْ وَٱحْصُرُوهُمْ وَٱقْعُدُوا۟ لَهُمْ كُلَّ مَرْصَدٍۢ فَإِن تَابُوا۟ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ فَخَلُّوا۟ سَبِيلَهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ ﴿٥﴾
[9:5]
Therefore, when the sacred months are over, you shall kill those who set up partners for god wherever you find them and take them captive and besiege them and keep a close eye on them. However, if they repent and observe the contact prayer and give the cleansing charity, then you shall leave them alone. Indeed God is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

Searchable text:فإذا انسلخ الأشهر الحرم فاقتلوا المشركين حيث وجدتموهم وخذوهم واحصروهم واقعدوا لهم كل مرصد فإن تابوا وأقاموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة فخلوا سبيلهم إن الله غفور رحيم

And if any one of those who set up partners for god sought refuge with you, you shall grant him refuge and let him hear the word of God then you shall see him off to safety. This is because they are indeed people who do not know.

Those who have set up partners for god could enter into a treaty with God and His messenger, only if they do so at the Sacred Mosque. Therefore, if they honor their part of the treaty, so shall you. Indeed God loves those who are god-fearing.

كَيْفَ وَإِن يَظْهَرُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ لَا يَرْقُبُوا۟ فِيكُمْ إِلًّۭا وَلَا ذِمَّةًۭ يُرْضُونَكُم بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَتَأْبَىٰ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ ﴿٨﴾

How could there be any treaty when they have the upper hand they never keep their oath, or their promise. They only offer lip service while deep in their hearts, they never mean it and most of them are wicked.
