[68:1] Nun. By the pen and what they write.

[68:2] Regarding your Lord’s blessings, you are not crazy.

[68:3] And indeed there will be a well deserved recompense for you.

[68:4] And you possess a great moral character.

[68:5] You will soon see and they will also see-

[68:6] -which one of you is being tested.

[68:7] Indeed your Lord knows best who has strayed off His path, and He knows best the guided ones.

[68:8] Therefore, do not obey the rejecters.

[68:9] They love to compromise so that you may compromise.

[68:10] And do not obey every lowly swearer,-

[68:11] -a slanderer, a ubiquitous backbiter,-

[68:12] -forbidder of righteousness, transgressor, sinful.

[68:13] Finally, unappreciative and full of greed,-

[68:14] -although he possesses money and sons.

[68:15] When Our proofs are recited to him, he says, tales from the past.

[68:16] We will soon mark his nose.

[68:17] Indeed, We tested them just as We tested the proprietors of the garden, as they were confident to pick the fruits in the morning.

[68:18] However, they had no clue.

[68:19] Then, a visitor from your Lord arrived while they were asleep.

[68:20] Consequently, by the morning, it became completely barren.

[68:21] In the morning, they announced,-

[68:22] -it is morning, go to your harvest, if you are to reap it.

[68:23] They therefore departed, whispering,-

[68:24] -do not let any needy person enter it today.

[68:25] And so they started the morning, completely resolute.

[68:26] But when they saw it, they said, we have certainly lost.

[68:27] Yes indeed, we have been deprived.

[68:28] The just one amongst them said; did I not tell you that you should glorify?

[68:29] They said; glory to our Lord, we have certainly been transgressors.

[68:30] Then they turned to one another blaming.

[68:31] They said; woe to us, we have indeed been rebellious.

[68:32] Perhaps, our Lord will give us in exchange something better than this; we certainly seek our Lord.

[68:33] Such is the suffering; however, the suffering of the Hereafter is far greater. If they only knew.

[68:34] Surely, the righteous will be at their Lord in blissful Gardens.

[68:35] Shall We therefore treat the peace offerers like the guilty?

[68:36] What is the matter with your judgment?

[68:37] Do you have a book through which you learn?

[68:38] Can you indeed find in it anything you like?

[68:39] Have you taken an oath from Us until the Day of Resurrection that you indeed shall have anything you want?

[68:40] Ask them, is this what they think?

[68:41] Do they have partners for god? Then let them bring forth their partners for god, if they are truthful.

[68:42] The day when they will be completely exposed and they will be invited to fall prostrate but they cannot.

[68:43] With their eyes subdued, overwhelmed with humility, they realize they were invited to fall prostrate when they were whole and able.

[68:44] Therefore, do not blame Me, and whoever rejects this narration, We will put them in their places from where they least expect.

[68:45] And inform them that My system is indeed formidable.

[68:46] Are you asking them for a wage that heavily burdens them?

[68:47] Do they know the future and have recorded it?

[68:48] Therefore, be patient for your Lord’s judgment and do not be like the companion of the whale, as he called out in agony.

[68:49] If it were not for a blessing from his Lord that touched him, he would have been thrown into the desert in disgrace.

[68:50] But, His Lord chose him and made him one of the righteous ones.

[68:51] And the unfaithful almost want to wipe you out with their eyes when they hear the message; and they say, he is surely crazy.

[68:52] And this is no more than a message to all the people.
