Al-Burooj
The Constellations

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ ﴿١﴾
[85:1] By the sky, containing the constellations.
وَشَاهِدٍۢ وَمَشْهُودٍۢ ﴿٣﴾
[85:3] By the witness, and one who is witnessed.
قُتِلَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ ﴿٤﴾
[85:4] Woe to the dwellers of the rectangular-shaped canyon.
وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌۭ ﴿٧﴾
[85:7] -and they all witnessed what they were doing to the faithful.
وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ ﴿٨﴾
[85:8] And they only unleashed their vengeance against them because they had faith in God , The Almighty, The Praiseworthy.
ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ ﴿٩﴾
[85:9] The One to whom belongs the kingship of the skies and the land. And God witnesses all things.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ ﴿١٠﴾
[85:10] Indeed those who persecute the faithful men and the faithful women then do not repent; reserved for them is the suffering of Gehenna and the suffering of the blazing inferno.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ ﴿١١﴾
[85:11] Surely, the faithful who lead a righteous life, reserved for them are Paradises with flowing streams beneath them. This is the greatest triumph.
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ ﴿١٣﴾
[85:13] Indeed, He initiates and repeats.
وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ ﴿١٤﴾
[85:14] And He is The All Forgiving, The All Loving.
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ ﴿١٧﴾
[85:17] Have you received the story of the armies-
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍۢ ﴿١٩﴾
[85:19] But, the unfaithful are in complete denial.
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ ﴿٢٠﴾
[85:20] And God has completely surrounded them without their knowledge.
